New skills, new experiences, new opportunities

From 10 to 16 May 2026, three participants of the „Mom speaks English” programme took part in their educational mobility in Portugal as part of the project entitled: „International Mobility as an Opportunity for the Development of the Foundation for Recreation, Activity, Mobility and Education”. The mobility was designed to support women – mothers – in developing key competences and increasing their educational, personal and social engagement.

The participants completed their mobility at our partner organisation Tropical Astral in Vilamoura. During their stay, they developed practical language competences through everyday communication in English and participation in workshops such as Everyday English (Communication) and Advanced Business English and Presentations. As a result, they overcome language barriers, increased their self-confidence, and strengthened communication skills useful in everyday conversations and international interactions.

An important outcome of the project was also the development of digital competences. Our participants gained practical skills using online tools, digital collaboration, safe internet practice, and creating digital content using modern tools.

The mobility also contributed to the development of intercultural and civic competences through direct contact with Portuguese culture, participation in activities related to cultural diversity, and learning about European values such as equality, inclusion, tolerance and active social participation.

The implementation of the project enabled participants to gain new educational experience, increase motivation for lifelong learning, and strengthen their self-confidence and readiness to take on new challenges. It also demonstrated that adult education can be an effective tool for strengthening competences, promoting social participation, and creating new opportunities for personal development.
